SFSA members are the leaders in the steel foundry industry. Our board of directors collectively has hundreds of years of steel casting experience and provides the guidance to the Society’s staff to develop programs and services that give SFSA members the leading edge.
The board of directors is responsible for setting the mission and strategic direction of the organization and oversight of the finances, operations, and policies of the organization. Key to the board’s success is the established procedures to ensure that its members have the requisite skills and experience to carry out their duties and that all members understand and fulfill their governance duties acting for the benefit of the organization and its public purpose. Furthermore, the board ensures that the organization has the capacity to carry out its programs effectively.
The SFSA Board of Directors is composed of the President and Directors; four of whom represent the four geographical Divisions of the Society, and three to six of whom are elected “At-Large”.
Divisional representatives on the Board of Directors are elected by the members of the Society in their respective geographical Divisions. Directors-at-Large are elected by the Board of Directors at its June meeting. All newly elected Directors take office following the Annual Meeting.
